"Yes, there are people who are trying to pull me down. These are those very people who only believe in rough competition. However, I am still trying to keep a positive attitude towards such affairs. I have faith in myself and am working hard. I am trying to keep a distance with such people and situations that could result in negative energy."
He is hopeful though that after the release of his upcoming film JASHNN, people will forget all the controversies around him and instead appreciate his work.
"I really hope that people realise it soon. I wanted one BIG opportunity and I have got that with JASHNN. I hope that I am noticed for my effort and I get some more good work. That's the only way to keep your head high; in the industry, despite all the negativity that may threaten to hit you hard", he bares his heart out.
In a way, JASHNN has been the story of his own life, right?
"Absolutely", he is quick to react, "JASHNN of sure is my own story. The moment I read the script, I knew that I had to do this film. While doing this film, I was living JASHNN."
And what are these similarities that he finds between his real and reel life of JASHNN?
"First and foremost, the film's punch line reads - "For every nobody who wants to be somebody". This truly is my tale as well because frankly, I am nobody till date. Yes, I have a successful Raaz 2 behind me but still I have a lot to prove.
Moreover, just like the character that I play in JASHNN, even I want to achieve success and am also working hard towards it. I am sure I will reach there some day soon", he signs off hopefully.
