There were news reports that Arshad Warsi's character in Shortkut has been modelled on the real-life Akshay Kumar.

In the film, Warsi's character, King Kumar, cannot handle overnight success and is seen as interfering and demanding in his choice of heroines, shooting locations and money.

However, both Warsi and director Neeraj Vora (who, in fact, directed Akshay Kumar in Phir Hera Pheri) have vehemently denied any resemblance between the characters.

Vora went on record to say, "Akshay's success is not a shortcut by any stretch of imagination. He has worked extremely hard to get to where he is!"

With the release of Shortkut only round the corner, we'll find that out for ourselves!
