It is learnt from our unit sources that Mani Ratnam is fuming mad on the Mumbai tabloid reports that claimed he ordered a huge re-shoot of his film because he was unhappy with Abhishek Bachchan's performance.
Certain reports also claimed that South star Vikram who is debuting with the film playing Aishwarya Rai's hubby had overshadowed Abhishek in many sequences and the junior Bachchan after seeing the rushes
requested Mani to have a re-shoot of them as well.
Abhishek has given two of his career best performances under Mani's direction in Yuva (2004) and Guru (2007) and that explains all. It is nothing but rumors says our unit source.
Raavan's climax sequence is
being currently shot in the deep jungles of Kerala and there is suspicion in the crewmembers that the one leaking out such false information is one disgruntled actor from the team.
Our source adds, "A lot of dates were wasted after Mani Ratnam had a heart attack and his subsequent hospitalization that followed.
Getting the ensemble cast together and also getting the required
permission to shoot in the interiors of Kerala took some time which lead to further delay of the shoot.
But now all things have fallen in place and shooting of the film is taking place at break neck speed. No
compromises are being made and the maker also intends to use helicopters to reach certain remote and inaccessible areas by road."
