THE FILM
Oops, now this is really old fashioned brand of comedy, something that was passe in the late 90s when films like Dulhan Hum Le Jaayenge, Kunwara, Chal Mere Bhai etc. came from David Dhawan stable.
No, Kisse Pyaar Karoon has nothing to do with any of the aforementioned films. However, the common factor here is director Ajay Chandhok who was once an assistant to David Dhawan.
Due to this, one does see shades of his mentor's directorial style though sans the grip and humour quotient that made him the film maker that he is today when it comes to making comedy flicks.
Guess what's the idea of humour here? A young woman (Udita Goswami) going to her boyfriend's (Ashish Chaudhary) place where a bowl full of noodles falls on her chest. What happens next?
Well, it is not really anyone's guess since boyfriend's friend (Arshad Warsi) almost pounces on her with his palms in a suggestive position. To know more, watch the movie.
Actually, don't watch it because there is a lot more which reminds one of the Masti that Aftab Shivdasani, Vivek Oberoi and Tusshar Kapoor had in aplenty, though in poorer taste here.
So what we get to see is Arshad Warsi suggesting his 'hands' not really being the cleanest, courtesy some of the unmentionable acts he has been indulging himself in. He talks about different creams of the world which are actually his 'girlfriends'. Ok, I will stop here!
Actually, I won't! Because there is a lot more in store from Kisse Pyaar Karoon that has the third hero (?) Yash Tonk confusing the audiences till the very end if he straight or gay!
Well, may be he was confused or perhaps he was confusing the audiences.
Whatever be the case, the fact remains that he has a street walker Shweta Menon (who turns into a Chameli or a Julie depending upon the 'trend' in the Bollywood world) falling for him and proposing marriage to him not once, not twice, but on multiple occasions.
And guess what's the advice that he gets from his friend Warsi? 'Go for it dude; if you marry her, you will end up saving not just on your 'expenses' but also gain from the money that she would be 'earning'!'
Aargh!
So is the film full of 'masti' (?) and 'maza' (!?!)? Not really because the film tries to pack in everything and introduces a villain (Shakti Kapoor) who is straight out of Aankhen.
For no rhyme or reason, there is this twist in the plot where it is revealed that one of the leading ladies was actually planted in the household of the three friends to lay hands on 'daulat' and 'zaayadaad'. And why does the heroine consent to do that?
Because she has her brother (or was it sister? Well, whatever!) trapped with 'goondas'. Now now now...how original is that!
So heroine is after money of one of the heroes, falls in love with another hero, first hero already has a girl who keeps coming in and out of his life while the third hero keeps on wondering about his orientation. And in between all of this there is also a friendly don (Ashish Vidyarthi) who gets all his inspiration from Sanjay Dutt's 'Munnabhai' character!
Double Aargh! And I am stopping now!
