"Story is basically excerpts, which are lost in pages of history. Most part of the country then did not even know the existence of British rule in India.
For them it was only their village that was known to them, in fact they didn't even recognize the borders of the country. These villagers had never seen a car; they were terrified of it, as if it was a monster. You will get the naïve and earthy feel of the then Indians in the film" he divulges.
Flag has a symbolic meaning in the film. When British-ers invaded the village they hoisted their flag pulling down the Indian flag.
None of the villagers would know the tri-colour and its significance, but there is only one person in the village that knows about the flag, as he is into the trade of dyeing clothes. "I am playing a villager Deva in the film. He is very passionate and an aggressive villager who thinks from his heart and not from head. I hardly look like a villager.
I certainly can't relate to this character, as I could never imagine myself wearing dhoti like typical Villagers, " the actor briefs about his part in the film ‘Flag'.
