The luck is shining bright on Sonali Bendre. She got married to Goldie Behl and things never looked better. When last seen, she was looking glorious draped in a sea blue sari that took her hours to tuck in. "I do a couple of Telugu films a year and that takes care of my foreign trip," she giggles. In town to receive the Maharashtra Gaurav Samman Awards, Sonali admits: " Trophies are good for your ego. Awards like this one that acknowledge your achievement make you feel honoured."
Sonali thinks marriage is the recipe for happiness. "I've been married for six months and I feel complete. It's nice sharing your life with someone who's on the same wavelength." That her career was heading nowhere also helped her decide. "I wasn't in the mood to keep repeating myself. I got Kya Masti Kya Dhum and it was a wonderful experience," she says.
She's just finished Amol Palekar's Anahat. "I play a princess who's married to an impotent man. It's a role unlike anything I've played before," says Sonali, who's also been roped in for Basu Chatterjee's next film. But she won't talk about it now. "I'll talk about it only when I should. Filmstars should be seen, not heard."
