You take an old plot, add a sprinkle of skimpy outfits along with some crass comedy and all you get is Nayee Padosan. Directed by B.H. Tharun Kumar, it tells the story of Pooja (Mahek Chahal) who has moved into the new locality. Anuj Sawhney is playing Raju who falls for her at the very first sight. Aslam Khan is Raja, who happens to be Pooja's collegemate, and loses his heart to her when she beats him in a music competition.
Vikas Kalantri plays Ram who is equally interested in the cause, because a fortune-teller has told him that he won't succeed until he finds a girlfriend whose name begins with 'Poo'. Here enters Prabhu (Rahul Bhat) a fellow Tamilian and Pooja's childhood friend. The battle seems lost for the three hapless boys.
Who'll get the girl is the million dollar question and the high point of the movie but as the film progresses, the screenplay looses it's grip and gives way to the cliched ending. Mahek doesn't really get ample scope to display histrionics. Rahul, Vikas, Aslam and Anuj try to deliver a decent performance. Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy's music fails to deliver any good this time. Cinematography is poor. Script is full of flaws and doesn't even come close to the all time classic 'Padosan'. On the whole Nayee Padosan is a sorry affair.
