At a temple in the presence of close friends and relatives, Ramya married the leading Telugu director Krishna Vamsi in Hyderabad . In a career spanning over twenty years, Ramya has posed in the lead role opposite all leading heroes in the south including Rajnikanth, Kamal Haasan and Chiranjeevi among many others. Ramya had worked in the film ‘Chandraleka' which was directed by Krishna Vamsi.
Her director-husband Krishna Vamsi, has hits like ‘Anthapuram' (which was remade in Hindi with Karisma Kapoor & Anil Kapoor – ‘Shakti – The Power') and ‘Khadgam' to his credit.
