Shashanka Ghosh is back, the guy who gave us, in your face Haryanavi jaat, Udham Singh. No, he is not creative head of Channel [V] anymore, this time, he is the director of a latest 'hatke' flick 'Waisa Bhi Hota Hai'.
WBHH tells the story of Puneet (Arshad Warsi), a copywriter by profession who wants to make quick bucks before he turns 30. His ultimate goal: Leave the fast track city life and shift to some remote place like Nainaital, where he can court her lady love Agni (Sandhya Mridul) for rest of his life.
Agni is her name personified and in no way qualifies to be miss goody-two-shoes. She is a sharp shooter and a fierce cop, who cannot forget how the gangsters shot her police commissioner father dead while she was young. As it's a bold film, the two share a live in relationship.
Then there is a Ganpat Godi (Anand Jog), the ace gangster of the city ably supported by his henchman Vishnu (Prashant Narayan). His motto: Live life king-size. No wonder he dreams to sleep with an actress one day. But then who said life is easy, even the goons got competition. Gangu Bai (Pratima Kazmi) is leader of the rival gang and hates Ganpat to the hilt.
Puneet is busy hatching schemes to get rich until one day something goes wrong. He happens to save Vishnu's life and as a result Agni throws her out of the house.
The two develop a bond in no time and also find out that though come from distinct work environ they are the same. The things take a serious turn when Gangu Bai and Ganpat learn about Puneet's reality. Gangu Bai uses Puneet to create friction between Vishnu and Ganpat and kidnaps Agni.
A twist in the story is Mahima Chaudhry's cameo. Chaudhry plays a movie superstar. Former MTV veejay Maria Goretti does an item number in this dark comedy.
We believed you Shashank, when you once said, 'Yeh hi right choice, baby', we are eagerly waiting to find out if it still holds true for your project.
