He is not glib. He is not suave. He is nothing like your regular Bollywood hero, who makes you swoon with his Greek God looks, but still, he steals the show with élan.

A must watch for all the aspiring actors, Chandan Arora's latest flick, Main Madhuri Dixit Banna Chahti Hoon leaves everyone saying, 'Main Rajpal Yadav Banna Chahta Hoon'.

Unlike Mili (Urmila) in Rangeela, who wants to be a star, Chutki (Antara), hails from the nondescript town like Gajrola, harbours the dream of emulating the screen goddess of the 90s. Her ultimate dream, to conquer the Bollywood, just like her mentor.

Her mannerisms, hairdos and costumes are exact replicas of Madhuri Dixit. No wonder, she has so many fans in the town. Raja (Rajpal Yadav) is just one of them. The only difference is, he is secretly in love with Chutki, for the woman she is and not the woman she is trying to become. But they say, Love is blind and Raja is no exception.

Chutki's dreams see the ray of hope, when Raja suggests a marriage of convenience and move to Mumbai. He is so much in love with her that he doesn't mind duping his overbearing father.

Their brush with the reality of the tinsletown starts as soon as they land in the city. They are conned, they are laughed at, they are even thrown out but Chutki refuses to take it lying down. Her struggle finally pays off as she bags a film, starring duplicates of top stars.

But then who said, life is all that easy? The duo's hopes come crashing, when the film sinks at the box-office. They pack their bags and return to Gajrola. What happens next?

Director Chandan Arora must be credited for the slick narration of the plot. Amar Mohile's music is not all that music to the ears.

Antrara falls just short of enacting her dream role. At times, you can see her struggling to get out of her glamourous shell. Rajpal Yadav, five feet something, stands tall and firmly proves that an actor doesn't have to shout in order to prove his credentials as a hero.

Ram Gopal Verma's protégés have become synonym with the creativity. Be it Urmila Matondkar, Manoj Bajpai, Chandan Arora and now Rajpal Yadav, all of them have carved a niche for themselves. The day is not far, when you'll be hearing the Bollywood producers shouting, 'Main Ram Gopal Verma Banna Chahta hoon'.
