20th Century Fox proudly presents Urmila Matondkar and Saif Ali Khan in 'Ek Hasina Thi'. No, you're not misreading it at all. It's true and the credit goes to Ram Gopal Varma, who has landed Bollywood's western counterpart in its backyard.
Saif Ali Khan is Karan, a richie rich, who falls head over heals in love with Sarika (Urmila Matondkar), a simple yet independent girl. Like any love-smitten couple they share the good moments and even plan their future.
But then Ramu's film always has to be more then a regular boy meets girl story. The twist in the tale comes as Sarika is charged with a crime and lands in the jail. Karan is shell-shocked. He does everything possible to bail out his love interest from this tricky situation.
To make the matters worse, Sarika has put up with a stern female officer in jail who makes her life a living hell. The hardships of the life bring massive transformation as Sarika goes through the personality change. What happens next? Can she really trust Karan?
This 20th Century Fox/Ram Gopal Varma production is directed by Shriram Raghavan. Ramu has roped in Amar Mohile again, for the music of the film. Seema Biswas, now a regular feature in Varma camp, plays an important role. Saif is sporting a whole new look for the film.
After stellar performances in Bhoot and Pinjar, expectations runs high for Urmila. We hope that she won't disappoint her fans this time too. With some power packed performances and slick treatment, Ek Hasina Thi is slated to release around Diwali.
