Maverick filmmaker Vishal Bhardwaj hasn't directed Ishqiya, but could the film have been churned out better had Vishal Bhardwaj himself directed it, instead of his protégé Abhishek Chaubey, who is debuting with this film?

This million dollar question was aptly put to rest by Vidya who plays the protagonist in Ishqiya, as she promptly replies, "It wouldn't have been better or worse, but it would have been different. But Abhishek Chaubey has made a wonderful film."

She continues, "Vishal's interpretation and presentation would be different. So I don't think I can compare at all.

Though credit must go to Vishal that being a director himself and having co-written Ishqiya he didn't interfere in the film. We have an opinion on everything, but Vishal had complete confidence in Abhishek. It is such a nice marriage of minds."

The film is due for release on 29th January 2010.
