Aamir Khan withdraws his resignation

Bollywood actor Aamir Khan, who had quit a government appointed panel to examine proposed ammendments to the Copyright Act, Friday withdrew his resignation.

In a letter to Human Resource Development (HRD) Minister Kapil Sibal, Aamir said: "Sir, I have given a lot of thought to your request to take back my resignation. I have also read the letter forwarded by other members reposing faith on my integrity... I am withdrawing my resignation."

"The initiative taken by you (Sibal) is very important. It is a welcome step by you and your ministry, " a HRD ministry official quoted Aamir as saying.

Aamir had Wednesday resigned from the 10-member committee following reported differences with committee member and lyricist Javed Akhtar.
