/> Mayawati, Mulayam Singh, Amar Singh....These are the players from Uttar Pradesh's political scenario who are expected to feature as part of Neerraj Pathak's fictionalized account of the state's turbulent politics.

After Right Yaaa Wrong and the half-complete The Man, Sunny Deol and his director Neerraj Pathak will team up for the hard-hitting political thriller entitled Gannit (maths).

Shedding light on the subject Neerraj says, "It would be a realistic political drama set in Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow to be more precise. The film will have three heroes. I've only decided on Sunny Deol so far. We'll shoot on location in Lucknow."

Gannit will be based on real politicians and politics in UP. "It would be unlike anything Sunny has done so far. We've so far two very different films together. Now it's time to go from action-thrillers to a realistic political drama"

Gannit will be produced by Red Carpet.Shooting starts later this year.

When asked if Irrfan Khan who co-stars with Sunny in Right Yaaa Wrong will also be part of Gannit, Neerraj says he is undecided. "I'd love to work Irrfan again, although he didn't have faith in Right Yaaa Wrong.

When I had approached him he thought I wouldn't do justice to his role since I was Sunny's friend. When the film was complete he was still uncertain. But that's okay. I was new and I'm just grateful actors like Sunny, Irrfan and Konkona Sen-Sharma agreed to work with me."

Pathak says Sunny will be a part of all his future projects. "He has stood by me, given me a chance to make a film when I was known only as a writer. Writers in our industry are still not taken seriously enough."

Reacting to the allegation that Right Yaaa Wrong was inspired by the 1995 thriller Above Suspicion Pathak says, "It actually goes back to a story I had read in the Alfred Hithcock Digest, and also the novels of James Hadley Chase. Fifty percent of the Chase novels are about insurance scams, just like Right Yaaa Wrong. I hadn't heard of or seen Above Suspicion. But now I will."
