Playback singer Sonu Nigam's stage show in Johannesburg almost ended in a disaster as he miraculously escaped getting burnt whilst performing at the Emperors Palace. The planned fireworks at the show almost horribly went wrong as Sonu accidentally walked right into the path of a flamethrower.

The surprised singer shot off, "Do you want to burn my face?!" and then continued on with his performance. The red faced technicians just looked on and thanked god for the close call. The show called for brilliant spectacle combining fireworks, colour and music.

The audience was spellbound as Sonu strung hit after hit together, combining English and Bollywood tracks whilst throwing dance moves reminiscent of Michael Jackson and Shammi Kapoor. Sonu Nigam has loads of hits to his credit, namely Deewana, Kal Ho Naa Ho and Suraj Hua Maddham.

It was heart warming to see three generations of the Nigam clan together as father Agam treated the audience to some melodious oldies, while son Neevan sang the popular song ‘All is Well' with Sonu. Sonu Nigam will also hold shows in Cape Town and Durban.
