The Bollywood version brings together superstars Akshay Kumar and Aishwarya Rai. The film, set in the 70s will have a retro look and feel. It also has an elaborate song sequence, bringing to life Indian cinema's classic era.
The song will have Akshay and Aishwarya pay tribute to the hit jodis of the 70's. They will groove to a specially- composed number by Pritam.
The song has been shot in Manali and has Akshay serenading Ash, in the typical Bollywood ishtyle! It will be a salute to the on-screen magic created by five jodis – Amitabh Bachchan - Jaya, Dharmendra-Hema Malini, Rishi Kapoor-Neetu Singh, Rajesh Khanna-Mumtaz and Shashi Kapoor-Parveen Babi."
The two will recreate the chemistry and dance to their hit numbers. The gorgeous Bachchan bahu wowed everyone with her dancing prowess in films like Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, Devdas and Umrao Jaan to name a few.
While Khiladi Akshay is best known for his action roles, he can pack in a few mean moves too. The pair was has worked together earlier in Khakee.
Vipul Shah confirmed the news and said, "This song, which will be shot in Manali, starts in a playful manner and then goes on to salute the stylish romance that was a trademark of the 1970s."
The film goes vintage in a big way, replete with costumes, make-up and sets of those times. It also has Akshay do a John Travolta in his hit 1977 number, Saturday Night Fever.
Clad in a bling outfit, it has the star in full-on retro mode. Shah has roped in Hollywood's biggest makeup artiste Paul Pattison (of Mission Impossible 2 fame) to give the actors a unique look for the film. With so much on offer, we sure have a winner on hand!
