Are you sick of listening n'th item number and all the rest of the songs have started sounding similar to you? Come to Dev, it's mint fresh courtesy Nida Fazli's soulful pen and Aadesh Shrivastava's vivacious music.

Call it Shrivastava's rapport with Big B, Govind Nihalani roped him in dumping none other than A.R. Rahman, who composed the music for his earlier film 'Takshak'. But Aadesh doesn't' let you down at all, as he gives one of the best work of his career to savour.

Kailash Kher, who found glory with 'Allah ke Bande', hits off the album with soulful 'Rang Deeni'. With some foot tapping background music, Mahau Kamat from Viva and Shraddha Pandit, Shrivastava's niece, pitch in along with Kher to weave this catchy number.

Kher with his hatke voice is sure to become the favourite with the music lovers who yearn for fresh vocal chords.

As the next song 'Jab Nahin Aaye The Tum', shows some exquisite poetry from Fazli it gives Kareena Kapoor one more reason to preen. Eat your heart out Bips, Bebo can croon WELL! She cautiously hums the whole song whereas Fardeen falters reciting the poetry. Nonetheless it's Bebo all the way.

Vijayta Pandit, wife of Aadesh Shrivastava, sings the other version of the song.

Riding high on Fazli's articulate poetry once again, Aadesh comes to the fore and steals the show with 'Allahu'. The song features a great arrangement and vintage Asha Bhosle, who gets to sing a meaningful song after a long time.

The album also features an effervescent Ganesh Aarti, ‘Mangalam Ganesham' sung by Abhijit.

You barely come out of the trance when Sonu Nigam grips you with his classical track in a long time, 'Tujh Sang Bandhi Dor', written by director Govind Nihalani himself. It's one of the better songs Sonu has sung in a long time.

And what better way to close the album other than Big B rendering some meaningful dialogues in a mellowed baritone mixed with some exciting music.

Dev may not go very well with the masses but it is definitely a sane voice among the cacophony of remixes and masala songs.
