Neil Nitin Mukesh is sure going places! The suave actor, who debuted with the critically acclaimed Johnny Gaddar,
followed it up with commendable performances in New York and Jail.
He's making news in tinsel town – be
it for his recent breakup with his childhood sweetheart, his growing proximity to Asin or bagging a lucrative
endorsement deal. And the latest revelation is that Neil will be composing the music for his forthcoming film!
That Neil comes from a family of acclaimed musicians is a well-known fact. He is the son of singer Nitin Mukesh
and grandson of legendary singer Mukesh Mathur. Mukesh Mathur was one of Bollywood's top playback
singers.
He, along with Mohammed Rafi, Kishore Kumar and Manna Dey, dominated Indian film playback
music from the 1950s to the 1970s. His father, Nitin Mukesh has also sung for Hindi films like Chandni, Tezaab,
Kranti etc.
With such a lineage, Neil was expected to follow in their footsteps and croon for films but the lad chose to act
instead. He has always been interested in music and his turning music director was a natural progression.
"I play the piano regularly and I love composing music. Some of my music director friends have liked my
compositions and they always encourage me not to give up on that, " says the handsome actor on being quizzed
about his new role!
His upcoming films include Lafange Parinday, Italian Job and Saat Khoon Maaf. Neil has also directed the action
scenes of an innerwear ad lately. Looks like he's dabbling in acting, composing and directing, all at once. Way to
go, we say!
