Your Bond girl rumours interest us no more. Moreover, your ambition of becoming India's finest export to the west has just been 'murdered' by Mallika Sherawat, who pips you at post to become action King Jackie Chan's leading lady.
Yes, it's true! The Jat girl is playing the lead role in Chan's upcoming flick, ‘Timebreaker', directed by Stanley Tong.
Tong, who started out as a Hollywood stuntman but made it big when he floated his own production house. Together, Jackie and Tong made blockbusters like 'Police Story', 'Rumble In The Bronx', 'Supercop', and 'First Strike'.
Amazingly enough the big call for Mallika came from Bobby Bedi's production house, to whom Sherawat just denied an item number, saying Stanley is on a lookout for an Indian face to portray a role of a princess.
"I'm so excited," raves Mallika.
"It all happened in the last 10 days. When I met the director, we hit it off instantly. I've been told to provide 30 days for the shoot. Ancient Indian rituals will be depicted in the movie and there's some dancing as well," she says.
The joy of working with some of the biggest names in Hollywood clearly shows on her face as she gushes, "We begin our first 10-day schedule in Shanghai on July 1. Later, we'll shoot in Hampi in Karnataka."
Do we see any action from her apart from scorching the screen?
"Of course, just like all the Chan babes I'll be having my share of action. I've been instructed to do lots of stretching in preparation," gushes Mallika, who just got an offer from Playboy to pose in their centerspread.
Hmm... Deadly Sherawat with the most agile Chan.... Now that's what we call a 'Snake In The Eagle's Shadow'.
