Isha Koppikar, as bold she may look was meek girl indeed, who got the shock of her life when Ram Gopal Verma offered her 'Khallas' song.
"Earlier I had played sober girls - the next-door type in southern films. When I heard the Khallas number, it came across to me as a very hot number. I thought I may not be able to do justice to it. And that is when Ramu stepped in and took the charge," she maintains.
And as we know rest is history. Now Koppikar is not only synonymous with the oomph but counted as the first among her 'bawdy' ilk.
But the skin show isn't easy job either, according to Isha.
"It is very dificult to do such a hot number and don't look vulgar at the same time. I guess, my face looks vulnerable. Now it's all sinking into me. I love to shock people... Up till now I've carried it off with dignity," she gushes.
Basking in the glory of a performing a challenging Lesbian role in 'Girlfriend', Isha is deluged with film offers from Razdan and his fraternity.
"I'm the hero of Girlfriend, You know, playing a lesbian wasn't easy. I had to do a lot of homework. I had no reservations about accepting the role. I'd be a fool to turn down an author-backed heroine-oriented role. But I had reservations about how I'd play the part. It isn't every day that heroines get a part like this," she says.
But what after Girlfriend? Can she top her shock value after what she did in Girlfriend?
"Of course! Just wait for 'Inteqam'."
With Inteqam, Isha does a take on Sharon Stone from Basic Instinct.
Sweltering already? Just wait and watch, how the things 'unfold' for the lady, who has a scorching screen presence.
