The biggest tragedy of Gayab's music is that its best song doesn't belong to the film, rather, it belongs to RGV's another production 'Ek Hasina Thi'. The signature number of the latter finally finds its place in Tusshar Kapoor's comic thriller.
Crooned at it's techno best by Dominique and Zubin, Ek Hasina Thi (Remix) shows Amar Mohile's finesse with Western instruments. Now when you're tapping your feet, don't forget to catch some exciting lyrics by Abbas Tyrewala.
Preceding the song is instrumental 'Rampage Notes' by Amar Mohile once again. Oozing the thrills and chills, it casts the haunting spell on the listeners and makes an effective background score.
If you can skip tacky 'Superman' (Kunal Ganjawala, Sunidhi Chauhan) and Hinglish 'Main love Tumse' (Vinod Rathod), you get to listen catchy 'Dilkash' by Kunal and Shweta Pandit. The song boasts of some good music arrangement by Ajay - Atul but is far from being hummable.
Why? It's all too complex!
A very 'southie' number in its treatment, Amar Mohile's 'Tanha' puts Sonu Nigam behind the microphone and gives voice to the yearning of a lover. The song has some meaningful lyrics to its credit and you grow an instant liking for the number, especially if you'd relate to it (wink).
Ajay - Atul's 'Gayab Hoke' is the opening track of the album and makes as a nice piece of hearing with it's catchy beats and haunting theme. Crooned by Kunal once again, the song has interesting lyrics by Taabish Romani, and give you insightful look into the character mindset who just got paranormal powers.
My Pick: Ek Hasina Thi (Remix)
Verdict: Four out of seven doesn't make it a bad deal at all.
