Tusshar Kapoor regrets having opted for the wrong films and says it is reassuring to be asked to star in movies like "Khakee" and "Gayab".

"I feel great that even after flops I managed to get offers like 'Khakee' and 'Gayab', which was very reassuring," told Tusshar, son of yesteryear actor Jeetendra.

In "Gayab", a film by Ram Gopal Varma that will be directed by Prawaal Raman and co-star Antra Mali, Tusshar is all set to sport a new look, complete with thick glasses.

He plays Vishnu Prasad, a loser. Lacking self-confidence and attitude, things always go wrong for him. His life doesn't get any easier with a nagging mother who takes pride in beating up Vishnu at the slightest opportunity.

But hang on, then comes a magical spell and the nerdy looking Tusshar soon becomes invincible like Anil Kapoor did in "Mr. India".

"Working with Ram Gopal Varma was a different experience all together. I think all producers must follow the way he makes movies. He does detailed research on every character in the movie.

"In fact for 'Gayab' he asked me to design the look I would play. I literally had to make a presentation to him as to how I would look. So I went on the Internet to search for different nerdy characters played in earlier movies.

"After a lot of research I gave some printouts to Varma who finally decided the best look that would suit me."

Tusshar even did a photo shoot with different clothes before the actual look was zeroed in upon.

"Since I play a salesman, I called actual salesmen who sell water purifiers to my office. Though I did not buy anything, I kept staring at them from top to bottom to check their body language.

"It helped. That's why we decided I should wear trousers and not jeans," adds Tusshar.

He has done several films but didn't really make an impact until "Khakee" came his way.

"Yes, I was wrong with the movies I opted for but I'm glad 'Khakee' came to my rescue. I was shooting for 'Gayab' when I got the good news about my character being appreciated. I just felt like packing as soon as possible to celebrate the success of my film."

Some people in the media even went to the extent of saying that "Khakee" was partly funded by his sister Ektaa Kapoor and that's why he landed a role in "Khakee" with other top actors like Amitabh Bachchan.

"I'm glad I proved them wrong and will wait till 'Gayab' releases," says Tusshar.

He is also shooting for his sister's next production "Kyaa Kool Hai Hum", directed by Sangeeth Sivan and starring Ishaa Koppikar and Ritesh Deshmukh.

They are looking for another actress. The film, according to him, is about two guys, both complete losers, and their escapades.

"It is not a sex-filled movie on the lines of 'Hawas' and 'Murder', but has its share of naughty scenes!" smiles Tusshar.
