Ahmed Khan claims popularity of sport has gone down

Ahmed Khan's football film starring John Abraham and Shahid Kapoor has now been shelved.

Titled Yahaan Ke Hum Sikander, the film was expected to tell the story of a team of footballers who have to play against England, but now Ahmed has decided to shelve the project.

He believes that the popularity of the sport in India has gone down considerably since he had planned the project.

And with Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal having already released with a plotline similar to his film and John having played a footballer in it too, Ahmed feels it is not a good decision to make Yahaan Ke Hum Sikander.

Yahaan Ke Hum Sikander was also supposed to star Nana Patekar, Ayesha Takia, Sneha Ullal and Rimii Sen. A R Rahman was signed to compose the music.
