Phir Milenge will have Shilpa Shetty in a different avatar.
Known for her glamour and the effervescent dance numbers she has enacted over the years, Shilpa will be now seen in an urbane, but "no make-up" look. This will be actor-director Revathy's second venture. Her last film, "Mitr", bagged
the national award.
Known for her handling of sensitive issues, Revathy aptly handles "Phir Milenge" -- a simple tale of a girl's victory over circumstances, her courage to take on the society and the workplace where she faces discrimination.
It's the story of a woman's spirit to survive and
her determination to live and be loved.
Tamanna, the leading character played by Shilpa, is a
young, advertising whiz kid. Considering the character, Shilpa was given a very subtle, yet very stylish, look. The accessories and the hairstyle accentuated the getup.
"We wanted to give Shilpa a completely new identity in this film. The brief from Revathy was to change her image to one of an ordinary working girl with character and strength. Hence the clothes we chose were simple but
elegant," said costume designer Anu Sundaram.
"We wanted an ethnic look, so we decided on linens, batik and hand printed material and simple cotton material. The final look was a simple
Indo-Western," Sundaram added.
