After blogging continuously for more than two years, Amitabh Bachchan has now joined Twitter and his son Abhishek has confirmed the megastar's presence by saying "Welcome Pa".

"Ladies and gentlemen. HE IS HERE! Big B in da house!, " Abhishek posted on his Twitter page to confirm the news Tuesday. "Welcome Pa. Show him the love tweeps!!, " he added.

After Abhishek confirmed the presence of Big B on the micro-blopgging site, director Ken Ghosh posted: "All Hail All Hail... The man... the legend."

Earlier in the morning, the first post from Big B's account went to Abhishek saying: "Hey baby!! I made it on twitter!!! Yeeaaaaaahhhh !!... sorry... just got carried away... safe onward flight and love."

Initially Bollywood celebrities were sceptical about the authentication of the account.

Music composer Vishal Dadlani had asked Abhishek to confirm the news and had posted: "AB, could you please confirm if this is actually Mr. B himself on Twitter?"

Once Abhishek confirmed, Vishal sent a message to Big B saying: "Sir, Vishal here. Just wanna say 'welcome to the jungle!' An honour and a privilege to have you here!"

Director Tarun Mansukhani posted: "Remember this day people... For today... We mortals are in the presence of god himself! Ladies n gentlemen... @srbachchan (senior Bachchan) is here!"

Well-known filmmaker Pritish Nandy wrote: "Sr Bachchan now on twitter. He's the man. Sr Bachchan Arrey, when we met last evening you never mentioned you were coming on twitter! Welcome. This is the place to be. welcome to twitter sir. I can imagine (yo)u enjoying this a great deal... cheers."

Since morning, Big B has managed to get as many as 6, 257 followers and the numbers are bound to increase after the confirmation.
