For those who want the Aamir Khan of the cropped hair and clean-shaven look of "Lagaan" and "Dil Chahta Hai", here's some bad news - the actor says he will change his hairstyle only when he starts a new film.

The elusive actor was talking to his fans and media at the release of "Chale Chalo", a film on the making of "Lagaan".

The interactive session, with fans quizzing Aamir from his attire in the film to the dialect and more, threw up some interesting sidelights as well.

One fan asked him if his, now separated, wife Reena had decided to stop the filming of "Lagaan" when the budget had gone over board. "I have learnt not to mess with my wife!" he replied cryptically.

He doesn't reveal much about "The Rising", which has had its share of controversies from the beginning.

"That is more like historical while 'Lagaan' is a fantasy film. I'm quite used to the Mangal Pandey look now and will change my hairstyle only after I start filming for a new film. I'm so glad the movie almost completed. We have worked hard and hope that it is loved by all when it is released next year," he said.

"I prefer to work in just one film as that gives me more time to work on my character," reasoned Aamir who has not signed any film besides "Rang De Basanti" by Rakesh Mehra.

He said he was not interested in production right now but wanted to concentrate on his acting. "I'm also not looking at directing any films right now."

Referring to "Chale Chalo" made by a childhood friend Satyajit Bhatkal, Aamir said: "Indian audiences love cinema. They would love to see something like this about how their favourite film was made. I think film makers must pick on this trend."

Watching "Chale Chalo" refreshed memories of "Lagaan" during the making of which they had a "blast", recalled Aamir.

"It is important that viewers know what goes on behind the scene. I was not aware that a documentary would be made while we were shooting for 'Lagaan'. It was a complete surprise. At the most, I thought we would edit and add it as a special addition to the DVD version."

Aamir said he had tears in his eyes while he watched the documentary.

"I want to promote more question and answer sessions with audiences. Mind you, this meet was not for the press but for common viewers so they can interact with the makers and the actors," said the actor who spent the entire afternoon chatting with reporters and fans.

Remembering the eight national awards and the Oscar nomination for "Lagaan", he said: "For me, being nominated at the Oscars was as good as winning it as getting into the top five is a huge achievement."

The actor said he loved spending time with his children and playing outdoor games.
