It doesn't happen often that one is approached by a filmmaker like Prakash Jha for a movie and when actress Katrina
Kaif fell in the same bracket, rather than being pleasantly surprised, she was shocked with non-belief.
"I was shocked when Prakash ji approached me for 'Raajneeti'. I asked him if he'd seen any of my films and he was
not confusing me with anyone else, " said Katrina, who has mostly done lighter roles and plays a politician in
"Raajneeti".
The 25-year-old plays a character inspired from the epic Mahabharata's Draupadi in the upcoming political drama and
considers it to be a big leap.
"This is a different step I'm taking forward (in films) and I hope people like it, " she added.
Also starring an ensemble cast including Ranbir Kapoor, Ajay Devgn, Nana Patekar, Naseeruddin Shah, Manoj Bajpai
and Arjun Rampal, "Raajneeti" is releasing June 4.
