In Bollywood, movies come and go like birds, some make a place for themselves, some fly away leaving no sign of their arrival. Today, Bollywood films are all about strategic marketing, they leave no stone unturned promoting movies, and every single person in the film becomes a part of the marketing plan.

But over the years, there has been a serious case of over hyped movies being a major disappointment. The marketing strategies are such that all you do is hear and see about the movie, till the point it sickens you!

Take for example the recently released Hrithik Roshan-Barbara Mori starrer Kites.

The movie is being hyped ever since it started filming and the makers have used every little gimmick to the best of their abilities, whether it's Barbara Mori's bikini body, Hrithik's learnt American accent, or for that matter "the hottest love making scene" in Bollywood, nothing has been spared.

Though the movie has been panned critically, commercially it has set the box office racing, with the numbers skyrocketing every few minutes.

It has even been described as a "Good-looking Disappointment."

After Kaminey, Shahid Kapoor was put on the map as the leading hunk, later he went on to do the box office dud Dance pe chance; they even had a dance competition for youngsters, the Genelia- Shahid jodi was definitely juicy enough, but even after an exceptional movie like Kaminey, Shahid's dance moves failed with critics and fans alike.

Ranbir Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor's debut wagon, Saawariya, was the most awaited 1. Because it was Sanjay Leela Bhansali's film 2. It starred three of yesteryears greatest actors. 3. it was blue ( which means it was here first, before Avataar) The weak storyline, and mediocre acting did not do anything help the movie.

There are many, many, many such movies which have fooled the innocent public, on wasting their money, time and in some case their sanity. Some movies are just made to mess up with cinematic buffs high expectations. With Rajneeti releasing on June 4th lets hope, it does not make us pull out our hair!
