Ashutosh Gowariker recently wrapped up the filming of his Abhishek-Deepika starrer Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey. On
the last day, the cast and crew were asked to report to the sets in an alag dress code: white shirts and blue trousers,
in keeping with the patriotic sentiment of the film.
Producer Sunita Gowariker confirms, "It was Ashu's idea that everyone comes wearing white and blue. White is the
colour of Vande Mataram and it also represents peace and purity.
Blue signifies the Ashok Chakra on the
flag. The film talks about the freedom movement. We wanted to do something symbolic. It was a pleasant surprise to
see everyone come dressed up in the colors and be sporting about the party."
Although Abhishek and Deepika couldn't attend, they sent their good wishes to the team. "Deepika was shooting for
Break Ke Baad, while Abhishek was in Turkey. We really didn't expect everyone to come. It was a small affair, " adds
the producer.
KHJJS was wrapped up in 124 days beating the unit's record for Jodhaa Akbar. "We wanted to wrap up as early as
possible because it's a period film and it was important to retain the continuity.
We didn't want actors and
supporting characters to start looking different over a period of time. The film was completed in the duration we
expected it to finish, " concludes Sunita.
