Akshay is very excited about this flick wherein he plays the role of a British Sikh corner shop worker from Southall and also has his foot in bowling and dreams of playing for England.
It will also feature cameos by former England captains John Emburey, Graham Gooch and Nasser Hussain. We will also get to see the Indian rapping sensation Hard Kaur playing the role of Akshay's sister in the film. Kaur will also be lending two songs to the film.
The shooting will be held at places like the Oval, Lord's and Tent Bridge and Southall after shooting in India for several months at a Mumbai studio where Southall has been recreated.
Akshay has already started his training in bowling with the likes of Balwinder Singh Sandhu, a member of the Indian Cricket team that won the World Cup in England in 1983 and Paras Mhambrey, a former Indian test cricketer, who is currently the bowling coach for 'Mumbai Indians'.
Akshay has picked up the skill so well that nobody on the sets believes that he has only been practicing for a few weeks. This 'khiladi' is very comfortable working with English technicians and has a great time working with them.
The film is expected to release sometime in November and hope that we get to see Kumar in a new avatar in a power packed performance.
