Walkwater and Abhishek Sharma's Tere Bin Laden has managed to do what no one has so far – it recreated Karachi in our very own Indian cities.

Tere Bin Laden, a tongue-in-cheek comedy about an ambitious young news reporter from Pakistan, who is desperate to migrate to the US in pursuit of the American dream, required everything to authentically look like it was truly Pakistani, right from the locations, costume design, language et all. Walkwater and Abhishek Sharma made sure that no stones were left unturned in doing just that.

The film was shot in areas of Mumbai and Hyderabad which bore close resemblance to Karachi. To add to the authenticity, Pakistani hoardings, products and even costumes were flown down.

Reveals a production source, "The costumes were brought in from Pakistan by the costume designer, who went to markets in Pakistan that women normally do not venture out into, just to source authentic clothes for the film. Typical radio sets, hoardings and products were also brought to the shoot location."

Additionally a crucial scene in the film required a truck found in Pakistan with a specific kind of art, wherein drivers decorate their trucks like brides. As luck would have it the director Abhishek and DOP of the film, Santosh Thundyil, spotted one such truck at a traffic light in Hyderabad.

"The truck driver refused to lend his truck. It was a funny scene as Abhishek and Santosh jumped out of their car in the middle of the road just to convince him, which they finally managed to do, " adds the source.

Walkwater's Tere Bin Laden starring Pakistani heartthrob Ali Zafar will have you laughing off your seats on July 16th 2010.
