Sources reveal that Kay Kay Menon was the first choice to star in Vikramaditya Motwane's Udaan as the 17-year-old protagonist's father.

However, despite doing rehearsals, Kay Kay backed out of the project a month before it went on floors. Not only was Vikramaditya helpless, but he also had to find someone to play the role perfectly.

Fortunately for the director, Ronit Roy was a perfect match. After being India's official entry to Cannes, the film got rave reviews at every screening. Guess Kay Kay must be regretting this one!
