The bold and beautiful Telugu actress Anushka Shetty will be seen as a prostitute in her upcoming movie 'Vedam". It is an action-drama film directed by Radhakrishna Jagarlamudi alias Krish of Gamyam fame and is produced by Yarlagadda Shobhu and Devineni Prasad for Arka Entertainment.

Apart from Anushka the film has a star cast of Allu Arjun, Manoj Manchu, Manoj Bajpai, VJ turned actress Lekha Washington, Siya Gautham, Diksha Seth, Raghu Babu and others.

The music of the film was released on 3rd May, 2010. The music has been done by the much experienced MM Keeravani and lyrics by Sirivennela Seetarama Sastry, Sahiti, ES Murthy and Keeravani himself.

The film is a complex cocktail of five different interconnected stories. The five stories will be led by five main characters played by Allu Arjun as Cable Raju, a cable operator from the lower society, Manoj Manchu as Vivek Chakravarthy, an upcoming rock star, Anushka Shetty as Saroja, a sex worker and Manoj Bajpai along with an old man plays a very important role in this film.

Though the movie is not being publicized, the producer claims that the film would not only be released in Andhra Pradesh, but overseas too, along with the areas where the Telugu population is concentrated.

The director said that he directed the movie, focusing specially on the screenplay aspect, which could bring a novel experience to the viewers. Moreover the director expects this movie to set a new cult of film making in Tollywood.

The movie is due for release on 4th June, 2010, with more than 300 prints, instead of 3rd June which was planned initially. With good reviews, that have already started circulating, the movie is promises an awesome experience this summer, it seems.
