Last year, Sreejita De had all but got her big break after she was chosen to play Ichcha post the leap in 'Uttaran'. Disclosing this to a news channel allegedly annoyed Colors who dropped her from the show. This resulted in extreme disappointment for the actress who went into hibernation.
Destiny brought De and Film Farm India Pvt Ltd together again. 'Uttaran's' producers' once again approached the actress to play a post-leap protagonist in their other show 'Kashi'. De was finalised to play the role of Kashi's friend Bijyanti. This time, De had an alternative option in 'Miley Jab Hum Tum', and obliged.
So, did she take 'Miley'. fearing another anther snub from the Film Farm show?
"No. If that was the case then, I wouldn't have auditioned in for them at all. This time, I had another offer in hand. And it was really difficult to choose between the two. After my last experience, I wanted to be sure about my entry in a show.
Though, there's been a question mark over the future of both shows, I opted for 'Miley.'. asI was getting to play myself. Despite its recent poor ratings, 'Miley.'. is a established and popular show. We've got a yearlong extension, but even if I got get 3-4 months exposure in a brand show, it would go a long way in shaping my career, " replied De.
Coming back to the 'Uttaran' sacking, De says, "Initially, it was tough but slowly I realized, that the show was simply not in my destiny. Whatever happens happens for the best. There's no point in whining or blaming anyone."
If Colors offers you a show tomorrow, will you take it?
"Why not, Colors is a popular channel. If any good role comes my way, I shall definitely consider it, " De concluded.
