Bhandarkar is being acknowledged for his outstanding work and contribution to the Indian cinema, which has made his type of movie making different, commercial and award-winning.
Earlier this year, Madhur was also awarded in Moscow and Egypt for his contribution to the Indian Cinema.
"I am highly honored and very delighted. It is always motivating when one gets such felicitations of encouragement. I extend my heartiest thanks to the organizers of the Show and the audiences worldwide, who have always stood by me, " says Bhandarkar.
Madhur's cinema has always been looked up as a mirror to the society, which shows what actually happens in the existing world. But moving away from his kind of films, Bhandarkar is first time trying his hands at a slice of life rom-com titled "Dil Toh Bacha Hai Ji" starring Ajay Devgn, Emraan Hashmi and Omi Vaidya. Following will be Kareena Kapoor-starrer, "Heroine", which will be a biopic on an actor's life, starting this December.
