An avid film buff by nature, Rajnikanth makes sure that he doesn't miss any of the films. Indeed, he happened to be one of those audiences curiously awaiting the release of Manirathnam's 'Raavanan'. Released with around 2200 prints, the film has witnessed a grand opening in spite of mixed reviews.

Superstar Rajnikanth made sure that he watched the film on Thursday evening at Devi Sridevi Preview theatre in T Nagar. Nothing could stop him from giving a standing ovation soon after the final credits.

Apart from singing the praises of Manirathnam and Vikram, Rajnikanth appreciated Santhosh Sivan's cinematography too.

He recollected his previous experience with Santhosh as they had worked together in Manirathnam's yesteryear blockbuster 'Thalapathy', which happens to be a modernized adaptation of the epic 'Mahabharatha'.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has shared screen space with Rajnikanth in the upcoming film 'Endhiran – The Robot'.
