To say it in more details, Imran is touted by people and fans alike to essay the role of the vampire as played by Robert Pattison.
An Indianized version of the 'Twilight' series would soon be launched and fans have voted the highest for Imran. Hollywood actor Robert Pattinson essayed the role of Edward Cullen with an enviable degree of flair and sophistication and if everything goes well, our very own Imran might just do the same.
Most fans find the complexion, hairstyle and the looks of Imran close to that of Robert Pattinson. Ironically, Imran himself isn't a fan of the 'Twilight' mania that seems to have grasped the world. He also says that he hasn't watched the first two parts of the 'Twilight' series, even as a third part is being made. Imran Khan a desi Edward Cullen?
Our readers seem to think so. They picked the actor as their choice to play the vampire in desi version of Twilight series
As pale-faced, tall, dark-haired vampire Edward Cullen, actor Robert Pattinson has captured the imagination of Twihards (what the Twilight series -books and films -- fans are known as) all over the world.
With Twilight: Eclipse, the third film in the series releasing July 30, we ran a poll to see which Indian actor fans like to see cast as the vampire in a B-Town adaptation.
Robert Pattinson
Imran Khan topped the poll. Fans believe his brooding looks, hairstyle and fair complexion make him the ideal choice to play Edward.
Not a Twihard
While Imran is aware of the Twilight mania, he admits he isn't a fan, "I know it's a huge franchise the world over and that the series has a huge fan following but I have not watched any of the movies. I know the third part is up for release, but I can't watch it since I haven't seen the first two.
Maybe I'll try and catch up on the first when I have time." He has nothing against vampire flicks per se, and has enjoyed films like Interview With A Vampire and Dracula.
Hair and there
However he admits that a lot of fans liken him to Edward, "I have heard this a lot from my fans on Twitter. They find a lot of resemblance between Edward and me. They say I look similar to Robert. I think it has something to do with the way my hair was styled in I Hate Luv Storys. Otherwise, I really don't see any similarities."
Too western
He doesn't believe that a desi version of Twilight will find an audience in India, "I don't see it working here. I think it's too west a concept. In India we call a vampire, 'betaal' and I think they look gory and unappealing.
Vampires in the west are sexy and good looking." having said that he's willing to put on fangs and play the part if the script is interesting, " It all depends on the script. If there's a film maker who has a vision that appeals to me then I will definitely do it."
Short and Snappy does it....
Vampires. Scary or sexy?
I think they are sexy, at least in the way they have been depicted in the Western culture and movies.
Which actress would you cast in vampire film?
Priyanka Chopra would look really nice. She has that jet black hair and intense eyes. She would look really good in a vampire film.
Who would you cast as Jacob the Werewolf?
I haven't watched the film, but if he's tall, beefy and good looking then John would look good right?
If vampire for a day which actress would you want to bite?
I don't think I would like to bite anyone! I think being a vampire isn't a great thing. They live a sad life. Also there's a lot of blood and gore involved which I find highly repulsive. I don't want anyone's blood on my hands!
Do you believe in vampires?
No, I don't.
Are you afraid of the dark/bats?
No, I am not afraid of either.
For Halloween would you dress up as Batman or Vampire?
That's a tough one! But definitely Batman, I am a huge Batman fan, so there's no way I would want to dress up as a vampire.
