Unconsciously, the success of "Mujhse Shaadi Karogi" has triggered off a titillating triangular trend in Bollywood.

Both Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar, blissfully wrapped up in the film's success, are ready to unleash more tales told in a triangular shape.

In Suneel Darshan's "Mere Jeevan Saathi", Akshay Kumar is trapped between Karisma Kapoor and Amisha Patel.

"In my last big hit 'Andaaz', I was caught between beauty queens Lara Dutta and Priyanka Chopra. Perhaps 'Mere Jeevan Saathi' will make a hat trick of hit love triangles for me," Akshay said, his fingers crossed.

Salman, who lately tussled with Akshay on screen for the privilege of marrying Priyanka Chopra, is now ready to get into another three-pronged situation.

In "Dil Ne Jissey Apna Kaha" directed by his brother-in-law Atul Agnihotri, Preity Zinta plays Salman's wife who dies in a tragic accident leaving her heart to be transplanted in Bhoomika Chawla. Talk about breaking hearts!

As the triangle succeeds, Bollywood is bound to get more innovative within the tried-and-tested formula. In fact, this year's other big hit was "Murder", where Mallika Sherawat leaves husband Ashmit Patel for a roll in the hay with Emran Hashmi. It was earlier titled "Triangle".

Last week's release "Shart", though a washout, was again a love triangle featuring Tusshar Kapoor with Amrita Arora and Gracy Singh. Tusshar regrets the film's failure.

"It was such a huge success in Telugu. It had the potential to be a major love triangle in Hindi."

This week's biggie "Fida" features Kareena Kapoor leading on Shahid Kapur to believe he's the love of her life while marrying Fardeen Khan. Though a lot of people were inclined to believe Kareena was featured in a double role, she actually plays on with both her co-stars, right to a shocking finale.

"I guess the triangles have matured. It's not the same like those sacrificial triangles in the past like 'Sangam' and 'Dil Ek Mandir'. Now it's a fight to the finish," laughs Kareena. So are triangles back in vogue in a big way? Looks like it.

In Dharamesh Darshan's "Bewafaa", Kareena marries Anil Kapoor but continues to meet ex-lover Akshay Kumar. In debutante Leena Bajaj's "Shabd", husband Sanjay Dutt pushes Aishawrya Rai on Zayed Khan.

In Manoj Bhatnagar's "Chess - A Game Of Love", Mahima Chowdhary sneaks away from husband Anupam Kher for a little bit of hanky panky with model-turned-actor Sonu Sood (so impressive as Abhishek Bachchan's brother in "Yuva"). Says Sood: "Yes, I play the stud in 'Chess'. Nothing wrong with that."

In Abbas-Mustan's "Aitraaz", Kareena Kapoor fights to get hubby Akshay Kumar out of sinister seductress Priyanka Chopra's clammy clutches.

Yes, there are lots of tangles within triangles waiting to be resolved this year.
