Colors named Bollywood hunk Salman Khan as host of 'Bigg Boss 4'. From the surface, it appears like a swap deal. Khan himself joked that it was indeed a swap.
Though, he refused to be drawn into any comparison with superstar Amitabh Bachchan, who hosted the third season of the celebrity game show and was also approached for Season4.
Now the big question is how Salman will carry off two shows on the rival channels –Dus Ka Dum on Sony and Bigg Boss 4 on Colors- that are neck-to-neck in the race for higher TRPs?
"My contract with them (Sony) is over. 'Dus Ka Dum' is a good show and I feel connected to it. If they want me as host, then I'll consider it, " said Khan.
It's surprising to hear what Khan said because till yesterday, it was believed that he was signed by Sony for three seasons of 'Dus Ka Dum' (DKD).
The makers of 10 ka Dum must be surely repenting their scheming ways.
Quick to realise that he was being taken for a ride, Sallu has dumped the show and vowed to return only at his whim.
Interestingly, Khan had been extremely patient with the broadcasters in the first two seasons. Before season two of DKD started, Sallu asked for an increment that failed to materialise.
The channel admitted to severe cash crunch due to recession and Sallu politely obliged. In fact, Sallu in an interview said, "I love this show."
Even though 10 Ka Dum was very close to Salman's heart, he realised that the makers were taking him for a ride and he wasn't going to wait for them.
After all Bigg Boss was beckoning his call!
