Shawar Ali who acted in Karan Razdan's "Hawas" opposite Meghna Naidu is an actor to watch out
for.
Shawar hails from Bhopal and has quite a few big ad campaigns under his belt. Now he is all set to
storm Bollywood. While "Hawas" was his entry ticket to the industry, he is equally gung ho about his
next two films.
In Deepak Tijori's "Khamosh", he says, "I play a cop and my character in the film will be quite a
revelation" and in Rajesh Singh's "Ab Bas" with Diana Hayden, "my role has grey shades".
In Sanjay Bhatia's "99.9 FM", he plays a radio jockey. That was quite a fun character to play, he
says.
"Though I have been modelling for quite a while and have lent my face to some really big campaigns,
it's movies that I want to be in. I think it's been my good fortune, be it modelling or films, I have never
had to really struggle.
"Fortunately, people have noticed me and offered me work. I have really been lucky to have met the
right people at the right time," says Shawar.
The actor feels each day, each film brings with it a unique experience "and I am very sure about what I
want to do, the kind of films, the kind of banners I want to work in, the directors I want to work with.
"I'm quite clear about the characters I want to play and I hope I get roles, which bring out the different
aspects of my personality."
A graduate in commerce, Shawar says right from school, he's been a "sportsperson. I love playing
tennis, basically any sport".
Having moved to Mumbai in 2000, Shawar swears by the city. "It's tough out here but I am happy living
here and making it on my own."
