On August 15, 2010, India has completed its 63 years of independence. But are Indians today free in real sense? It can be a subject of heated debate. But we are not here to initiate a serious discussion.

We picked up an amusing topic and asked your favorite telestar to tell us about those things that they, as daily soap actors, would like to get rid of. Here we listen to the citizens of daily soap country:

Rubina Dilaik: Actually I want freedom from this word 'daily'. It should be erased from the dictionary. An actor after working for long hours cannot enjoy his or her personal and social life. At the end of the day we feel that there is nothing left to do.

Our lives get trapped between home and sets. No life beyond the sets. I think this concept of daily should be scrapped from the industry. Instead of working for the whole month, there should be gap between schedules so that we can take care of ourselves.

Karan Wahi: I hate the system of TRPs that prevails in this industry. I want to get rid of the system which judges the show according to the TRPs and not by the acting and other resources that are used in the show.

I still can't understand how a show can be judged on the basis of ratings. One has to understand that there are many kinds of people watching the channels and each and every person has his/her own reason to select a show.

The way the shows are evaluated is totally wrong. By rating one can understand the viewership of the show. But this cannot be the sole criteria to judge the quality of a show. I want to get rid of TRP system.

Sanaya Irani: I have cried a lot in my daily. I really want freedom from crying in any show. From the time I have started doing my daily soap I have been seen sobbing always.

People often think that I am the one who is very introvert and always like to cry. Apart from my crying, I love each and every moment spent on the dailies. I have no complains but I want freedom from sobbing. Please help me.

Neil Bhatt: I want freedom from daily soaps itself. This doesn't mean that I want to leave it forever. All I want is holidays after working for long. It is so sad that we don't even get one Sunday to take rest. We have to work for long hours come what may.

Additi Gupta: There are two things from which I want freedom. One is the production stuck up and the other is dresses.

I don't understand why a married woman in a daily soap has to wear heavy sarees along with so much jewelry all the time. Why can't she be in jeans and kurtas?

As a result, we have to suffer with heavy get-ups. We have to spend the whole day on the sets wearing all the stuff that are really annoying. I want freedom from wearing those things which make me feel uncomfortable. Please give us freedom from these two things.

Kapil Nirmal: I want freedom from 'Saas Bahu Saga'. This does not mean that I am against 'Saas Bahu' stories. But let the actor create his own image in front of the audience.

I don't want to name them but there are people who want actors to act like Bollywood stars. For example, if there is any romantic scene then romance like Shahrukh Khan, if there is a fight sequence then fight like Ajay Devgn. I mean, let the actor grow and create his own image.

Siddharth Shukla: I want freedom from hectic schedules. Really, working all through day and night becomes stressful. Then we fall pray to serious disease and illness. That's quite obvious when one does not get proper rest.

All I want is freedom from hectic schedules. Instead of making banks of 100 episodes a month, we should target making banks of fewer episodes.
