"There was so much crowd that day! I lost my wallet during the poster launch of our movie outside Shah Rukh Khan's house Mannat in Bandra (Mumbai). We had not expected the numbers in which the crowd and media appeared. I was holding the mike, my phone and even my 11-year-old daughter... so I really didn't realise when I lost my wallet, " Majethia told on phone from Mumbai.
However, the producer who is behind shows like "Khichdi", "Instant Khichdi" and "Baa, Bahu Aur Baby", was lucky enough not to lose his driving licence and other important credit and debit cards.
"I usually give my wallet with the cash to my make-up man. But he wasn't there when I left the vanity van that day. I maintain two wallets. And I had left the one with all the important cards and my licence in the van. So that got saved thankfully, " he added.
Majethia, along with the cast of his popular show "Khichdi", chose to launch the poster of the big screen version of the show in front of superstar Shah Rukh Khan's house Friday because he feels the actor is "symbolic of the great heights that a TV actor can gain in Bollywood".
"Just like so many lovers get themselves clicked outside Taj Mahal, we decided to release our poster in front of Shah Rukh's bungalow. The transition from TV to films is very tough and he did it successfully. We also hope we get a lot of success on the big screen, " he said.
The film has been written and directed by Aatish Kapadia and stars actors like Anang Desai, Supriya Pathak and Girish Sahdev, who were also seen on the small screen version.
"Khichdi - The Movie" also features actor Satish Shah and has a special appearance by choreographer and filmmaker Farah Khan. The film will be released by Fox Star Studios Oct 1.
