With performances in Europe and the US with Shah Rukh Khan, a stopover in New York to finalise a film with Mira Nair, and a sundry other things, Rani Mukherjee's
career is truly on the upswing.
Want proof? She has stopped talking to the press. "I'd rather let my work speak for me instead of crowing over how 'Hum Tum' is a hit, blah blah," she tells.
And boy, is Rani's work speaking for her! In Sanjay Leela Bhansali's "Black", scheduled for a December release, she has given a performance that will be the envy of every leading lady in competition for the awards.
Her "Black" co-star Amitabh Bachchan is impressed beyond words. "It's her film. And she's phenomenal," says Bachchan.
The two will soon be coming together
again in Ravi Chopra's "Babul" where she plays Bachchan's widowed daughter-in-law.
And the latest news is that Rani is in talks with Mira Nair for a film. She will meet the director in New York for the project.
