Veteran singer Asha Bhosle has turned 77 years today. The melody queen has sung more than 12000 songs in her six decade long career but now she does not find Bollywood playback singing interesting anymore.

The singer, who ruled in the industry with her versatile songs, was quoted saying that she had also gone through many tough times during her initial days in the industry. Asha said that she was not helped by anyone as a newcomer and she had to convince the musicians to sign her.

In an interview, Asha Taai was quoted saying that as she had no grandfather in the industry she had to beg for work. Bhosle added that it is always better to get someone, who can guide you as a lonely person is bound to make mistakes.

The veteran singer has said that she will go ahead with playback singing only when something exciting and new is offered to her. She kept mum when she was asked about her alleged rivalry with her elder sister Lata Mangeshkar.

Asha Bhosle said she is grateful to the musicians, who gave her chance to sing as a newcomer. Apart from this she is only thankful to her parents and the listeners, who kept her alive till today.
