Ananya Chatterjee has just won a National Award for Best Actress in the movie Abohomaan.

Speaking on her spectacular win, Ananya said that the mega-serial 'Subarnalata' was her claim to fame. Ananya claimed that even after giving a stellar performance in Abohomaan she has not received a single good feature film offer from any of the renowned Bengali film directors.

Ananya is not the kind of actress, who goes to directors for roles. She said that she might be tagged snooty or snobby because of her attitude but she is not the type of actress who will approach a director for a role.

The actress is particularly thankful to Rituparno Ghosh for giving her the lead role even though he had never seen her perform at close range. Ananya said that she is thankful to Rituparno for this fantastic role.

When asked if the National Award will change anything about her, Ananya said that winning the famed award is big honor for her but it will not change anything about her at all. The actress believes that she is the same person as she was before winning the award, (well there is a small difference, she seems happier!).

The actress revealed that she is spontaneous in her acting; she claimed that with Rituparno Ghosh as her director she could always trust her instincts. We hope the actress gets some great offers in the near future and keeps entertaining the audience.
