After completing two back-to-back 'fun' films, Shankar's just-released Robot and Vipul Shah's Action Replayy, Aishwarya Rai-Bachchan is now hungry for more such films.
Shah says he couldn't decide who was funnier -- Aishwarya or Akshay on the sets of Action Replayy. "Aishwarya has the image of a serious person. That's probably because of the restraint and grace with which she carries herself.
In real life, when she is with close friends and when she lets her guard down, she can be a lot of fun. This aspect of her personality is seldom seen in her films."
On the sets of both films, Aishwarya was in her element. Her co-stars, Rajnikanth in Robot and Akshay Kumar in Action Replayy, known to have a great sense of humour, may have inspired her leaning towards comedy. A source reveals, "Aishwarya calls Rajnikanth 'Rajni Uncle' and they seemed to have loads of fun working on the special effects of Robot."
Adds Shah, "The only other film that starred Akshay and Aishwarya together was Khakee, where her character killed his. In Action Replayy, her character had to kill quite a few people, and she seemed to thoroughly enjoy it. I've never seen Aishwarya have so much fun."
Sources suggest that the actress has asked filmmaker and close friend Sanjay Leela Bhansali to write a comedy. Bhansali is keen on adapting a Marathi comic play to screen. Aishwarya recently wrapped up Bhansali's Guzaarish, which she describes as "intense but fun".
