"I'm a kind of a person who doesn't get along with everyone very easily but as cliched as it may sound, working with John was a delight, " Manasi, who is making her Bollywood debut with the film, told in an interview.
"He is unbelievable - so good at his work, very hardworking and also helps and take care of everyone on the sets. He helped me quite a bit, " she added.
Abbas Tyrewala has directed "Jhootha Hi Sahi" slated to hit screens Oct 15, is a romantic comedy about Siddharth (John), a compulsive liar who causes conflict in his own love story with Nishka (Pakhi). While Tyerewala's wife Pakhi plays main female lead, Mansi will be seen in the second lead.
The actress, who has done theatre in the past, says she really wanted to work with Tyrewala and that is why she went for the auditions.
"I really wanted to work with Abbas. I know him and I love his work. When I cleared the audition, I was told that I was the 51st person to be auditioned for the role and they picked me because I was absolutely right for it. Actually in many ways the character in the film is what I really am, " said the actress.
Even though the singer turned actress, who has released albums like "East Light", "Temple tree" and "Naach Le", is making inroads in Bollywood, she still feels music is her first priority.
"Like the way I am and I look, I don't see myself doing roles of leading ladies in films. The film is a big project and was a wonderful experience, but music is my priority, " said Manasi.
"However, I'm open to good offers. I have got a lot of things on my table, but I haven't decided anything till now. Acting is a lot of hard work so I don't want to take a wrong decision and do a film that is not so good, " she added.
