The release of Jhootha Hi Sahi has been postponed... again! The Abbas Tyrewala film was due to release October 15 but will be delayed thanks to composer A R Rahman, who hasn't completed scoring the film's background score as yet.
The director wanted his film to come out in the first week of July. He considers it lucky because his directorial debut Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na which released July 4, 2008 clicked. The Oscar winning music director couldn't keep that date either.
Thoda thehro!
After trying his luck trailing the elusive and much-in-demand composer in Los Angeles (and failing), Tyrewala has now been promised by Rahman that he'd get the final portion of the score after the Commonwealth Games end on October 14. This puts a huge question mark on the film's latest release date.
Abbas is understandably guarded in his response: "We're working on the background score. It's turning out awesomely. All good things take time. Rahman is the best."
A little prodding later, he adds, wistfully, "We're all set with everything except the background score.
The film can be censored without the background music, I think. Is it cutting it too close? I don't think so. Films are known to get their final touch hours before the release. We're positive."
Saregama are the John Abraham-Pakhi starrer's producers. Managing Director Apurva Nagpal says, "Rahman and Abbas told us they needed a little bit more time. We see no problems releasing the film on October 22 instead of the 15th."
