Deafening shouts for India and a loud cheer for the almighty - that is how Indian athletes celebrated the country's 11 gold medals so far at the Commonwealth Games with electronic rock band Pentagram's dead metal tribute to patriotism at the Games Village Wednesday evening.

The players from the Indian contingent shouted their lungs out to celebrate the feat as the Mumbai-based band performed.

"Jo bole so nihaal, sat sri akal, " cheered Manjith Kaur, an athlete from the Indian contingent.

Lifting her up on his shoulder, Vishal Dadlani, lead vocalist of the band, said: "This is our answer to all that our country will perform... let us pray that we win more golds in the days to come."

The 500 seating capacity open air auditorium was filled with people grooving, whistling and head banging. The auditorium reverberated with chants of "India, India" while some turbanators even performed Bhangra on rock.

"Our nation has always been exploited and let us not let it happen again. All the Australians and other present here, this is not to offend you but let us all raise a voice, " screamed Dadlani, before breaking into the number "Yeh Desh Hai Veer Jawano Ka".

The remarks didn't go down well with the guests as the few sportsmen from Australia, Scotland and Uganda present at the performance walked away - visibly upset at the taunts.

The energy, however, was wild and there were cellphones lighting up the gig instead of lighters, water bottles being used as sprayers and crazy hoots - all for the country.

The band also belted out their hit numbers like "Voice", "I Am An Animal" and "See The Sun", among others.

The daily performances in the Village are a part of 'Delhi Celebrates' planned out by both the state and central governments to showcase the wonders of India's music during the Games.

Bands like Soulmate, Euphoria, Indian Ocean and others like Mohit Chauhan, Daler Mehendi and Hariharan-Sivamani-Louis Banks will also be performing till Oct 14.
