/> A R Rahman who grew up listening to his father, a musician, listening to film songs on long-playing (LP) records, is touched to the core to have his music on an LP for the first time in his career.

Rahman's music score in Jhootha Hi Sahi is being issued on a long-playing record.

While Rahman remains off-press until the Common Wealth games are over, the Jhootha Hi Sahi director Abbas Tyrewala says, "When Rahman heard about his music on vinyl he couldn't stop smiling. As a child he used to see his father's eyes light up each time he would listen to his precious LPs. Having an LP of his own is a big moment for Rahman."

Vinyl, according to the music company Saregama, is coming back in vogue.

Says the company's managing director Saregama Apurv Nagpal, "I think vinyl long-playing records are making a subtle comeback. Go into any leading music store, and you'll see a quiet stack of long-playing records in a corner."

Not only is Jhootha Hi Sahi the first music score in vinyl form from Saregama since Yash Chopra's Dil To Pagal Hai, it is also Rahman first LP ever.

Explaining the nitty-gritty of the retro-move towards vinyl Apurv Nagpal says, "We're manufacturing only a 1, 000 LPs of Jhootha Hi Sahi to begin with.We want to gauge the interest-level for this experiment. We know it will be high. In fact we're also manufacturing and selling two kinds of record players for those who are interested in listening to their music on LPs.The records will also be available on the net. We see a sizeable revival of interest in vinyl."
